Phobias...
The word “Phobia” is taken from the Greek word “Phobos” meaning “fear” and is defined as a persistent, abnormal and irrational fear of a specific thing or situation.
We are only born with two fears; the fear of sudden loud noises and the fear of falling. All other fears are learned behaviours from past experiences in our lives which is also known as “conditioned learning”.
How do I know if I have a phobia?
People can develop phobias to all sorts of things and although there is an ever increasing list of names thought up by creative counsellors for each one, a phobia is in effect a panic attack that has been associated to a specific real or imagined situation or event.
The good news is that what has been learned can be unlearned!
I use NLP techniques and hypnotherapy to effectively remove the cause of the phobia quickly and permanently, usually only taking one or two sessions meaning you don’t have to wait to feel better unlike other “therapies” where you are expected to talk about and live through your fears over many weeks, months and in some cases even years!
