Phil’s Background in Music...

Phil Braiden has an extraordinary background and wealth of knowledge in the field of music. He began his professional career as a musician within the Royal Air Force Music Services. He has travelled the world and performed to Heads of State and Royalty. Performing on TV and Radio broadcasts and at venues including The Royal Albert Hall, Buckingham Palace, Royal Festival Hall and Earls Court London, with others too numerous to mention.

In addition, he has performed all over the world including: Hong Kong, Gibraltar, Cyprus, St Lucia, Germany, Belgium and The Falklands. Phil has experience of working under pressure at both live concerts and shows as well as in the recording studio and has worked with many professional performing and recording artists during his early years including Georgie Fame and Roy Castle.

Stage fright and performance anxiety can be a major problem whether you are an actor, musician, vocalist, dancer, or any other performing arts professional.

It has been responsible for many dedicated and talented individuals  becoming incapable of performing and being forced to abruptly end their careers.

The saying that goes that  “there is never a second chance at making a good first impression”. This is literally true for performers as whether you are on the concert platform or acting on stage, the pressure and stress can be extreme as there is no second chance to get it right as your reputation or career can depend on your ability to deliver that “flawless” performance, consistently.

Many professional performers say they become nervous or apprehensive before a performance. Although for some, this can be an advantage by giving them “that edge”, for many, it can quickly develop into more severe anxiety and spiral out of control.

Stage fright can therefore have a crippling effect resulting in some of the following problems:

Why do so many musicians and performers choose Phil Braiden?

What makes Phil stand head and shoulders above others is his unique ability to understand the problems faced by performers due to having been a professional performer himself.

For musicians, performing in front of a live audience is one thing, but if you want to play a difficult piece flawlessly or reach that one perfect note, the pressure can be immense.

Isn’t it about learning to be more relaxed?

Yes and no. Yes, you need to be relaxed under certain conditions, but for musicians actors and other performing arts professionals it can be a complex mix of focus, energy, passion, concentration and technique required at any one time. Therefore, it is important to get to the bottom of what is causing the problem and not only fixing it, but ensuring you have the right tools to enable you to be in control of all aspects of what you do as an individual.

I help my clients to become more flexible and resourceful. Allowing their natural talent and ability to work for them whilst being more aware of how they can use and channel their emotions in a constructive way as opposed to allowing them to take over and become destructive.

The added benefits...

In addition to the obvious benefits of clients overcoming their problems, the added benefits are that they often phone or write to tell me that they feel much happier in themselves and more in control of their lives in general after our sessions.

If you have a problem with either stage fright or performance anxiety, I can help you:
